Indus Valley World School, conducted a workshop on CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT for the teachers on 1st October, 2018. The resource Person was the former CBSE Chairman, Mr. Ashok Ganguly, well known for his reforms to reduce student stress, and modernising the systems of evaluation. He introduced new subjects, courses and a range of teacher- and principal-in-service training and empowerment programmes, including one in partnership with IIM-Ahmedabad. Underlining the need to develop new skills for the new century, Mr. Ganguly introduced Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the Class XI-XII curriculum.
The IVWS workshop took place in the school auditorium where Mr. Ganguly initiated a discussion on “How to become a Great Teacher from Good Teacher”. There was a myriad of discussions, theories, conjectures on how to manage classrooms effectively.
The workshop culminated with lessons from Mahabharata and also interpretation and reflection on acquired knowledge.
