After being awarded the ISA Award by the British Council and the ASSOCHAM Award for Best Pre School, IVWS has once again been honoured with the highly acclaimed Telegraph School Awards for Excellence 2017 in the area of Maintenance and Eco – friendly Initiatives. Amidst growing concerns of climate change and environmental degeneration, IVWS has lived up to its mission of being a school with a difference by focusing on green energy, sustainability and renewable energy. From a 80 KWT solar plant for channeling renewable energy to low wattage fans and LED lights, the school is committed to reducing its carbon footprint. Segregation of waste is done by installing different categories of wheelie bins at vantage points in the school. Rainwater harvesting is effectively practiced and vertical gardening using green manure along with a low drip irrigation system has also been implemented. Furthermore, an innovative technology has been employed in the use of Central Air-Conditioning, which can simultaneously change temperature in different rooms in the building as a reaction to external weather conditions. In this way, the school has made an earnest effort to contribute to environmental conservation.
