On 26 August 2019, the Indus Valley World School was privileged to host Ms.Monica Santos,a hospital clown by profession, from Spain. She spends 6 months in India visiting and working with patients in hospitals. She runs a non-profit organization called Big Smiles where it is her endeavour to provide emotional support through laughter not only to patients but also to their relatives, doctors and staff. She also works with those who have suffered from physical and psychological abuse from childhood to adulthood.

On her maiden visit to Kolkata this was her first visit to a school where she got an opportunity to interact with students of Class 2 whom she engaged through a high energy performance. As she mentioned through her act of ‘Exploration’ she was instilling the skills of listening, hand eye coordination and the ability to follow instructions among the students. It was a unique experience for the students, teachers and leadership team of the school and a memory to be cherished forever.
