On 21st March 2024, four of our students attended the inaugural event of the U.S.- India Poem Project. A collaboration involving the U.S. Consulate and American Center, the United States based National Youth Poet Laureate (YPL) programme and Urban Word (which founded the YPL in 2016), this year-long venture will culminate in the selection of Kolkata’s first ever Youth Poet Laureate. The orientation at Lincoln Room, American Center, brought together Michael Cirelli, the founder of YPL, Kashvi Ramani, the 2022 regional Youth Poet Laureate of Arlington, Virginia as well as the first Virginia State Youth Poet Laureate (2023-24), and Meera Dasgupta, the 2020 Youth Poet Laureate. We look forward to our students participating in this year long programme.
