Stamp Designing Competition held at Indus Valley World School in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.
In alignment with the national-level ‘UN@80’ celebrations, the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Govt. of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, organized a Stamp Designing Competition. As part of this initiative, Indus Valley World School proudly hosted a series of events for its students to participate in this prestigious competition, which serves to commemorate the United Nations’ 80th anniversary in October 2025.
The Stamp Design Competition at Indus Valley World School took place in batches from July 1, 2025, to August 1, 2025. The event was met with tremendous enthusiasm from students, who were eager to express their creativity and artistic vision on a significant national and international theme. The competition provided a platform for students to engage with global issues and India’s role on the world stage.
The central theme for the stamp design competition was designated as “UN@80 and India’s leadership in building our future through multilingualism, global leadership and stewardship.” This theme encouraged participants to reflect on the UN39 enduring legacy and India’s pivotal contributions, particularly in promoting multilateralism, cultural diversity, and responsible global governance. The students designs were expected to visually interpret these complex concepts, celebrating both Indian cultural heritage and the shared ideals of the United Nations.
The competition was open to students from Classes 9 to 11. A large number of students from this age group participated with great zeal. They were encouraged to use a variety of artistic mediums to bring their ideas to life, including crayons, pencil colours, water colours, and acrylic colours. All submissions were created on art sheets of A4 size, 200 GSM, and white paper, ensuring uniformity and quality for the selection process.
The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the students of Indus Valley World School underscored the success of this event in promoting awareness and engagement with the mission and India’s role within it.
