‘Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers’.
On 24 January 2020, the students of the Indus Valley World School participated in the One Nation Reading Together Programme. Reading can be a fun and imaginative time for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them. Studies show that reading for pleasure makes a big difference in a child’s educational performance. Keeping this in mind our school and Scholastic joined hands to promote book reading habits among our young learners. Students of Grades I – IX including their teachers brought books of their choice and immersed themselves in the magical world created by their favourite authors. The students took a pledge to read as many books as possible. They also expressed their views about reading books and their favourite authors in a colourful and innovative way in the form of graffiti posters.
