In today’s day and age, education has transcended the traditional methods of teaching. The concept of utilizing movies as a tool for providing education combines learning with a source of entertainment. Keeping this in mind Bichitra Pathshala in collaboration with Sauce Communication held three screenings of two Bengali films, namely ‘Gossain Baganer Bhoot’ and ‘Monojder Adbhut Bari.’Nearly 1100 students benefitted from the screenings. ‘Gossainbaganer Bhoot,’ was screened for Grades 3, 4 and 5 twice, for the morning and day shift students.This was followed by an interactive session with Ms.Subha Das Mollick and Mr.Supratik Sur Roy. The students laughed, clapped and cheered during the movie and enthusiastically participated in the interactive session where they flooded the resource persons with interesting questions. Classes 6,7 and 8 watched ‘Monojder Adbhut Bari’ and had a marvellous session with Ms. Sreemati Ghosh and Ms.Subrata Chakraborty which could have carried on endlessly if the students had their way.
