To commemorate the International Day of Peace on 21st September 2020, the school organised a talk for the students of Grade XI & XII about the importance of peace. The students and teachers were addressed by Ms. Dayita Datta,a renowned History and English teacher with over 40 years of teaching experience. She taught in La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata for over two decades thereafter spent several years as the Vice Principal of Welham Girls School, Dehradun. A voracious reader and keen traveller, Ms. Datta continues to pursue her passion of igniting young minds as she teaches History and English in Assam Valley School, post retirement. She is also the first Indian to have won the BBC Mastermind show. Our students were privileged to hear her as she spoke about conflicts over time and the crying need for peace in the present times.The talk ended with an interactive question answer session where the Ms.Datta responded to the questions posed by the students.
