Through the course of one week, 27 students of Indus Valley World School had the privilege of working with facilitators from the Delhi Art Gallery (DAG) to create a unique interactive art experience. They interpreted historic events ( like the Santhal rebellion and the Indigo Revolt)through textile scrolls that helped unravel stories of colonialism and freedom. Students did their research and explored the rebellions in the freedom struggle inspired by original paintings and prints from the exhaustive DAG art collection. Interesting art techniques like Lino cuts, appliqué, batik, and the use of natural dyes culminated in the creation of their original scrolls. The interactive exhibition was inaugurated on 14th August and will be on display for a week.
