CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL

26th August 2015

Held on : December 23, 2012
Venue : IVWS
Event Profile : On 23rd December 2012, all the parents, guardians, friends, students and well wishers of Indus Valley World School gathered at the school premises to celebrate, to enjoy and to be happy. The evening was cold but it went unnoticed amidst the festivities. IVWS welcomed everyone to this joyful celebration of colour, lights, music and dance. This Christmas Carnival was the culmination of several inter-school events that had taken place on the first two weekends of December and the winners of these events showcased their talent on the Final day. There were also a number of games for the adventurous, a book exhibition for the bookworms and several stalls selling gourmet delights for the gastronomics. IVWS firmly believes that parents and guardians are an integral part of the school family and with this in mind a number of events like Tee-shirt painting, mother-daughter duo dance contest and Antakshari were organized for parents as well. The school band belted out numbers like “21 Guns” by Green Day and the iconic “Pritibita naki choto hote hote.” The annual Prize Distribution for all round performance was also held in the same evening and the school felicitated students for achieving laurels in not only academics but in other co-curricular activities as well. The occasion was presided over by the founder Director Usha Mehta. The prelims of different inter-school events had sent up winners to perform on this day and BDMI took the stage in Carol singing followed by IVWS choir. IVWS presented their winning dance in the Junior category. Adamas International sang to the all time favourite “Hotel California” and performed a brilliant dance number. The events of the day were rounded off by an inter-school fashion show “Cloud 9”. IVWS showcased the varied culture of a few Indian states. The evening had as its Grand Finale, the Inter-School Prize Distribution. Noted actress and member of the legislative Assembly (WB), Debashree Roy was the Chief Guest of the evening.
