A joint drill on Emergency preparedness was conducted at Indus Valley World School by the Fire services and Kolkata police (panchasayar PS) on 13th of May 2025. Officials from both the departments had visited the school to address a session for the students of Grades X and XI and they were explained about the various ways to combat the extreme emergency arising out of the current situation the country is facing.
Sessions on how to rescue themselves and their fellow mates in situations calling for emergency evacuation, sounds of different war signals and sirens were played and real time rescue videos of fire , war like situations etc were shown as part of the drill. Use of different fire extinguishers and their applications to douse fire in households as well as outside situations were also explained.
Overall the session was relevant in today’s date and time and there were a lot of meaningful takeaways for the students.
