Indus Valley World School (IVWS) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first school in Kolkata to officially partner with ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), UK. The occasion was marked by the visit of Ms. Bethany Hermon, Business Development Manager of ABRSM London, and Ms. Sonia Khan, Head of ABRSM India, and the Managing Director of the Indian Youth Orchestra, ABRSM.
With this partnership, IVWS is now recognised as an official ABRSM centre, making it a hub for music-related activities, including exchange programmes, workshops, musical collaborations, and examinations conducted by ABRSM. The school is also now a registered examination centre for ABRSM assessments.
To celebrate the launch, the school hosted a special programme showcasing musical performances by students from various grades. The event not only highlighted the school’s commitment to holistic education but also offered students a chance to interact directly with the visiting ABRSM delegates.
The School Principal, Mrs. Reshma Bhattacharya, said, “At Indus Valley World School, we believe in nurturing future leaders through a well-rounded education where academic excellence is complemented by co-curricular engagement.”
Preparations are currently underway for the upcoming ABRSM practical examinations scheduled for November, followed by the High Scorers’ Concert, which will spotlight the top-performing students.
