Dolphin Conservation Awareness

04th August 2025

In alignment with the “Project Dolphin,” a part of the initiative by the Government of India launched on August 15, 2020, Indus Valley World School, organized a series of awareness activities aimed at promoting dolphin conservation throughout India. These initiatives took place over the week of 7 th July to 17 th July 2025 and included a Pledge Ceremony, Awareness
Video Screening, and a Painting Competition for students of Classes 6 to 8.
The Pledge Ceremony was held on 15 th July, 2025. Students and teachers took the pledge creating a united front in solidarity.
An Awareness Video Screening was also held in Grades 6 to 8. The video showcased the beauty and intelligence of dolphins and also covered essential topics such as habitat preservation, pollution, and safe wildlife practices. It featured interviews with marine biologists and activists advocating for dolphins, which provided students with insight into real-world conservation efforts.
To engage students creatively, a Painting Competition was organized for students of Classes 6 to 8. The theme revolved around dolphins in their natural habitat, urging young artists to express their views on conservation through art. The students showcased their colourful paintings, ranging from realistic depictions of dolphins to abstract interpretations of their importance in the ecosystem.
The Dolphin Conservation Awareness activities at Indus Valley World School proved to be a resounding success, raising awareness about the plight of dolphins among students and the wider community. The combination of the Pledge Ceremony, Awareness Video Screening, and Painting Competition fostered a spirit of ecological stewardship and laid the groundwork for ongoing involvement in conservation initiatives.
