We were delighted to host the two authors Sampurna Chatterji & Eurig Salisbury, who came to Indus Valley World School with the Scholastic team on 28 January 2020. They read poems from their book of nonsense verse titled ‘The Bhyabachka and other wild poems.’ It was a very novel experience for our students to learn about how the poets wrote these poems by sharing words from the Welsh and Bengali languages with each other, without knowing the meaning of the words. So a word like ‘kelenkari’ from Bengali , in the imagination of Eurig Salisbury became a food item! The students asked some interesting questions to the poets who shared their passion for writing with the young minds.
