We’re excited to share a milestone moment in our journey toward global peace and education! On November 8th, Indus Valley World School hosted an impactful Round Table Discussion on Peace and Education, presided over by Mr. Samath Pathak, Communication Officer for South Asia, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). This landmark event brought together visionary educational leaders committed to fostering positive change, featuring enlightening student presentations on Peace and SDG 16. The discussion opened new pathways for schools to connect directly with the United Nations, creating unprecedented learning opportunities for students. We were honoured to felicitate distinguished guests including Mrs. Manasi Roychowdhury (Chairperson, Techno India), Mrs. Sanjukta Bose (Director, IIHM), Mr. Sumit Das (Senior Journalist), Mr. Imran Zaki (Honorary Secretary St. Stephens, Educationist, Former President of FACES Kolkata), and Mr. Rajender Singh (Former Honorary Secretary, St. Xavier’s College Alumni, VP-FACES and Co-Founder Kolkata WeCare). Their presence and insights added immense value to our discussion. Under the guidance of our dedicated ambassadors, Suman Sood (West Bengal Chapter) and Swati Bakshi (Country Ambassador), the event focused on empowering youth as champions of peace through education. The collaborative dialogue centered on creating lasting, positive change in our communities and beyond. This unique platform not only strengthened the bond between educational institutions and the United Nations but also reinforced our commitment to nurturing tomorrow’s peace advocates.
