Moot Court Event

The IVWS moot court team participated in a simulated legal trial organised by Sri Sri Academy on Saturday, 9th November 2024. It was centered on Rani Sen vs. Vikram Roy, a case addressing domestic violence under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and the Indian Penal Code. This experience allowed students to engage deeply with the legal protections available to victims and appreciate the critical role of advocacy in confronting issues of abuse and justice.

 
Through this moot court session, our students, Srijato Banerjee, Shivaditya Chakraborty (both from class11) and Soham Chatterjee (class 12), demonstrated not only legal acumen but also an understanding of the societal impact such cases have in building a fairer and more protective legal system. Events like these empower future legal professionals with the skills and perspectives needed to drive meaningful social change.
