The Annual Sports Meet of the 2024-25 session of Indus Valley World School, held on January 15, 2025, at Gitanjali Stadium turned it into an arena of champions! Chief Guest Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua and Guest of Honour Ms. Arpita Ghosh, the West Bengal U-23 Women’s Cricket Team Coach graced the occasion inspiring the students. The event was also attended by several special guests, including Mr. S.L. Gupta, CEO, Ms. Amita Prasad, Director of Manovikas Kendra, Ms. Priyadarshinee Guha, Associate Vice President of Kolkata Centre for Creativity, Ms. Madhumita Sengupta, Principal of BDM International, and Ms. Suman Sood, Director and Principal of BD Memorial Junior Group of Schools. The event began with a welcome address by the school Principal Mrs. Reshma Bhattacharya, who introduced the esteemed guests and conducted the flag hoisting ceremony along with the student council members. Students of two NGOs—AIIM Foundation and Uttor Kolkata Ananda Mandir, participated along with IVWS students in many of the events.
Highlights that had everyone cheering: 180 students showcasing perfect precision in the March Past; 58 students demonstrating Taekwondo & Yoga mastery; 512 students creating magic with Umbrella & Cloth drills ; 959 students competing in thrilling novelty races; Action-packed athletics: hurdles, relay races, shot put, long jump & more! Special Parents’ Tug-of-War with 72+ participants!
The Police Band’s special performance added the perfect rhythm to this spectacular day of sports! Proud moments as champions took home their well-deserved medals and trophies! Special prizes were distributed to the Individual Champions across divisions.
